The Richardson High School Kids have been hard at work and they have completed an AMAZING full redesign of the Blender.

There are so many more uses for blenders then margarita machine.
Does it have a swapable shell? What exactly was redesigned other then the giant bar being on top lol

The entire chassis inside has been COMPLETELY redisgned from the ground up with new gravity defying features!!! I won't go into details because I don't want to be the one blamed when the cat gets let out of the bag. The more experienced builders among you will probably have our new trick figured out by the end of the competition.
What do you think of our "arena"?

bahahaha I like the idea of using the weight of the shell with the bar. downfall of thunderstruck? does the shell still have teeth too?

That's a clever way to have the best weapon depending on what you're up against. I'd personally choose the bar for wedges and anything with non-spinning weapons, and the smaller teeth for anything with a spinning weapon.

i would maybe use it against copperhead. Depends on how they look in person. With the hieght of the bar you might be able to catch across one of there teeth while they would only really come up underneath the bar but i dont see it getting a good bite

We would only use the bar against a tallish robot like Rhoto. Otherwise we use the teeth. with drum spinners we would most likely use bottom teeth only for we don't have a repeat of last year.

How much does it way with/without the bar? Will you add anything for extra weight when taking off the bar? Are there seperate shells?

there are separate shells. the shell (light one) and the bar equal about 50lb's total. bar by itself is about 40lb's give or take.

the light shell is aluminum? and btw, i don't suggest using the bar on copperhead lol. how tall is it? Copperhead's drum is bigger than you think it is... if we hit up on the bar it'll be much worse for you that us hitting your shell...

Don't worry we wont use the bar if we fight CopperHead.

Why not? The drum supports should be in range of the bar. Seems like an ideal situation in my opinion.
Then again if the drum catches the bar it might send it flying over the wall like Thunderstruck. Good thing it can deify gravity now.
SenaiERI
EDIT: Only after completing a flight course and getting your helicopters license can it deify gravity.

Yeah, it's more likely than not that a powerful drum would throw Blender around if it was using the larger blade.

Matt and senai are both wrong. This thing has no gravity defying ability. They are disinformation specialists. Leave is be you two....

haha so i guess you're accelerating counter-clockwise so you get lift as you spin up? right hand rule?

RHR only applies according to shape for airfoils. So if it does generate lift (or downforce), it's accidental and probably only a trivial amount.

the angular acceleration is what creates the force I'm talking about - but yes it is quite small

LOL, if anyone figured out the secrets of the graviton, it'd have to be SpiderPig. At the very least, the wedge fights will be a hilarious exercise in futility for most of their opponents.

Same here. I'm thinking one of two things (in the case of a shell spinner):
1. The spinner ricochets off like an air-hockey puck, much like it would if it hit the wall of the arena, eventually coming to a stop after either crossing the arena or bouncing off of the lower wall (the steel part). SpiderPig is pushed either several inches or a foot & temporarily looses vacuum, as well as gains an awesome looking dent in its steel shell (which is still shallow compared to the armor's thickness). Repeated hits may result in either: A. loss of a hardened steel or titanium tooth, or worst case a failure of the shell axle/bearing/the shell itself. B. batteries or electronics coming loose inside the spinner due to acceleration/deceleration C. nothing but a lot of sparks and an awesome show. (most likely result) D. horrible luck resulting in the spinner becoming propped up on the arena wall or inverted, unable to move after a particularly severe bounce.
2. SpiderPig is hit hard enough to loose vacuum and is thrown several feet, while the other robot travels a slightly further distance. In this scenario, the gash in SpiderPig's armor is more noticeable, and depending on the location may cause minor buckling in the aluminum chassis. However, repeated hits of this type are non-fatal to SpiderPig, unless: A. several of the drive shafts are somehow drastically bent. B. the steel armor is somehow torn from the robot.

i didnt see either, and havent seen cuddlebunny compete but i dont have the most faith in the vacuum seals, i dont think its gonna always hold annnnndddd the KE energy has to go somewhere while some is gonna go to the opponet but its like when you hit a concrete wall, both still get fucked up hahaha
