Well.... 3D Realms is shutting down, and with them, the legend of Duke Nukem Forever may die. Ironically, just as they approached completion of the game that they have spent the past 12 years working on, they ran out of money and went out of business. Another 9 months and they may have finished it.

The Duke

It is too bad really, but hardly unexpected.

The project may survive this, going to some other developer, but there are some serious legal issues standing in the way of that. Name 3D Realms still owning the development rights to the game and full publishing rights to the IP while Take-Two owns full publishing rights to the game...
