I don't know how many of you play a lot of games, or how many of you like Starcraft as much as I do, but I thought I may as well just post it here since most of you probably don't follow this stuff nearly as closely as I do...
http://us.battle.net/ Blizzard just launched their new Battle.net service and if you create a new account(or use an existing account) there is now a "Beta Opt-In" option which will put you on their waiting list for Starcraft 2 Beta Invites. Beta isn't started yet, but this is a sign that it will be coming in the next 4-5 months.
By doing this you have no guarrantee of getting into the beta, but it is still a nice opportunity.
Several people on their forums have already reported getting Invites on their accounts.
It is exciting and means Starcraft 2 is probably just around the corner, coming before the end of the year... Edit -

OMFG!!!! Ok, Blizzard has officially opened up the "Opt-In" process for the beta.
What you need to do is go to your Battle.net Account, click "Beta Profile Settings", then "Opt-In".
It will then run an application which will record all your System Specs and then send them back to Blizzard. From there, you have an opportunity to be in the beta. The Beta Officially begins this Summer.

I used to be good... Haven't played in a long time. But I think my peak Microing skill was about 72 APM(Actions Per Minute)
Have since moved on to slower paced, modern RTS's like Company of Heroes(much more tactical and methodical. Still fast, but definitely not APM oriented micro), Dawn of War 2(one of my current go-to games), Empire: Total War(My current time-sink besides the club... I must have spent 40 hours on it in the past 2 weeks), and Sins of a Solar Empire(Don't ask how much time I have spent with this game... Seriously just don't ask). And have almost certainly forgotten the strategies I used before, but I do enjoy watching pro matches(will link to my favorite matches in just a second)
I hope I get a Beta key though... Love Starcraft. And need to find my CD Key or buy a new Battlechest....

Great Match... Oh... And here is a classic Boxer...
More insane Boxer.... (this will make you cry about your own skill level compared to his)
He attack a Zerg main with 8 marines and 4 medics... He lasted 3 minutes and completely destroyed them with that tiny attack force. All because of insane micro... Nothing you could even do against it if you were to play against him.
