its against the rules to use EMFs to cause interference to the other bot's electronics. because electric currents are generated by moving EMFs you could use an EMF that used DC but not AC. besides you wouldnt be using it as a weapon directly, only to "grab" the other bot.

Actually, I'm pretty sure gripping mechanisms are classified as weapons.

the Battlebots building rules pdf says

"9.4.4 Electromagnets
Externally-mounted electromagnets can be used on a BattleBot, provided that:
a. any electromagnet is powered only by a DC voltage, which may be switched on and off, or reversed in polarity.
b. the control electronics for any electromagnet does not interfere with any battlebot radio control signals or with any tournament communications equipment"

This kinda pisses me off. I know we are on the same team and all...but you didn't even ask me for permission to copy my idea (as I did with the top secret weapon) or even bother to tell me you were going to use my idea. And you aren't even helping me find my motor. I give you permission anyways...but next time ask please...

Sean Rubin is pretty much the only 15 lb team member.

Aren't you doing a 15 lb robot? And Jake is. And So is Will, Alex, and Tyler.

And my robot is not only a wedge/plow. It has a secret weapon as well.

Right Jeff's point was that the 120 lb team with a secret weapon wasn't talking with the 15 lb team with a secret weapon and ur pretty much the only one on the 15 lb team.
I think, I could be wrong and am putting words in his mouth.

Umm.. Sean,

The Idea of a plow came from the 120... remember how I helped you decide what it would look like? And how it was supposed to look exactly like the 120? Well.. It does. the 120 plow Idea came a month before the 15 pound plow implementation came about.. sorry. Rolling Eyes

You didn't give me the idea. I was in the car with you. And i was wondering if i shld do a plow rather than a wedge. You siad I should do both. I took that idea. But the plow was my idea. And i had no idea CuddleBunny would be a replica of ItsyBitsy. I thot the only similarity wld be the secret weapon.

itsy bitsy was the original name of YOUR robot, sean. and I gave you the idea of a plow when we drew it up before we got into the car. during robotics. if you don't believe me, the paper with my drawing on it is sitting on the bulletin board! Razz

i meant SpiderPig...
We never drew the plow on my paper anyways. I just made a note of it. I am pretty sure I thought of the plow tho. But I believe you could have had the idea first. W/e. Dont want to make a big deal out of it. I dont really care that much. just wanted mine to be a little more original. And it shld not be a replica as I have not seen the designs at all for SpiderPig.

lol
for starters, you don't have as many drive motors. also, you don't have doubled-up wheels.
and just to make you happy, do remember that we actually built the 1st Generation Prototype of the 120 as a 15, which has turned into your robot. so technically, the 120 is a 8X replica of yours! TADA!!

ya, i was just thinking that myself. has anybody heard anything from bergen county? they usually go, but I don't see any of their robots registered for Nationals. Is it because of the cost of getting 3 120's and 3 15's to San Fran AND the people to go with them?

Ew ew ew ive talked to BCA lol there not going cause they dont really have any bots, i think theyve retired most of there 120's except for the brand new block of steel they call mighty knight lol but the came to a decision that it wasnt fesible for them to go this year, that was also before they decided to alow wedges in HS 120's but from what ive heard they my also be going to Rotunda Rumble and like ive said earlier Bloomsburg may be withdrawing there registion from San Fran and attend Rotunda Rumble, also so that they could compete at our local competition finals (I really really think they want a rematch now)
