| 4 questions 1) diameter of beater 2) kv of motor 3) voltage of battery pack 4) top speed of bot answer these and you have your answer | |

| 24x305= 7320/2 (2 = 1:2 ratio) = 3660rpm with quick spin up. 7 inches diameter, and i assumed almost 5 pounds weight? You will be fine. | |

| you've got enough weight and tip speed with that large dia beater that by the time it comes around the more bite the better so you should be perfect with a 1:1 or 3/4:1 | |

| here is the cad in pdf form
it spins using the magmotor shaft as the weapon shaft which is stationary, but the motor itself is what spins and it is bolted into the beater
also the entire frame may be machined out of one huge piece of billet and the huge material chunks left over will probably used for ant and or beetles
my only concerns right now is finding/making a slip ring connector that can handle the necessary current and rpm's to do the job
also id like to run the mag at 24v but it seems i only have enough weight for 12-14.4v and im not sure how it will perform at such a low voltage

please id really like to get some feedback on this, before i build it. CRITICISM WELCOMED Jeeves...I think that you get big points for creativity, but I don't think that it will hold up well in combat. 1) the beater looks thin, considering how big it is, and it's also not just along for the ride, it's the only thing holding the front end together. 2) So much throat and to not tie it together with a solid shaft thru the beater? I think it will spread or peel like a banana. 3) Why the mag motor? Lot's of weight way out front, brushes fighting centri-forces, $300 in harm's way, using the front motor bearing as the only support for that side of the beater, and topping it off with a slip ring or fluid coupling setup at way less than 24v? 4) hmm....sorry that 's not a good hmm (jmho)

| i see what you are saying with the shaft and i can have another assembly with a solid shaft all the way through but this just seems so much simpler but i think you right.
the beater is 1.5'' thick it is the same beater bar i have used for the past 3 years and it has seen many hits the worst damage i have seen is a few dents
i actually came up with the magmotor idea as a joke, but than my mind started wandering and got to thinking that it is just so rediculous that it may work. I prefer the the mag over the axi i have becuse i believe it will get the beater to speed much quicker than the axi, granted the top speed will be lower. Also the magmotor just has its own intimidation factor when put in a 15/12
what if i were to keep everything the same but switch the weapon motor back to the axi in the beater?

| ive never been a fan of spinning a weapon with only a motor
with a belt or pulley theres something there to slip or break these hits are just getting bigger and bigger
i honestly dont take a 15 with a magmotor all that seriously cough animosity cough Dont get me wrong there great motors but theres just so many better brushless options anymore that its so much wasted weight and power
I would stick with the axi or a comparable motor to the 41xx. There is a team up here spinning a 6 or 7 inch i believe beater at 1 to 1 with pretty quick spin up
still not sure about such big exposed wheels especially if Uberbot is still competing in MA

| Any decent horizontal, either a fbs or strong undercutter is going to take the front wheels out and totally tweak the 1 piece frame. The beater's other dimension would be my concern, especially if it's trying to hold the rest of the bot together. The whole geometry of the bot looks a bit strange (at least to me) It looks like it will have cg problems and also not be very nimble. Animosity did look intimidating...for about 2 seconds.... | |
