This is also why we are building the 12 pound ttatt. They only allow us to drive 1 bot per class ans seeing as we are making the trip, the 12 should provide some good insight into how ttatt 15 will perform against undercutters like Surgical Strike.

Cody...I know you've posted vids of wedges vs undercutters, etc. Any links that can help us figure out some strategies against the moto 12 pound lineup wil be appreciated....

One thing i can tell you right now is becareful of your drum/wedge supports
It might have just been how it caught the drum but SS is wicked

Rugburn sheared and inner frame rail on SNS similar to this but didnt rip out the axle
Scurries weapon isnt as powerful as petes undercutters but its very reliabe and is almost a tank
Sonic always has bugs
Upchuck will probably be redisgned and I would say espect a drum compareable to the version of aftershock that you saw
Deranged is really slow, i dont see it being a problem
As cool as ingor is, it always has its bugs
Cataclysm should be pretty interesting. Its Bryan Ubers bot he designed and built Uknight. This bots drums is only 1/4" smaller and probably have a axi 2826. Outside armor is all 1/8" ti with 10-32 hardware. He's machining parts now and it'll be its first competition.

The design of Sting, Sting'Em, ttatt and our 12 's drum/wedge supports is very beefy. The 12 and 15's are using 1" blocks, held to the front crossmember and .225 Ti with 15 10-32's. Plus we also use the main shaft, spacers, etc to preload the drum or wedge in all directions.

I am bias, but I would like to break all these plastic and alu bots and/or their weapons into little pieces...lol

Is it possible? Probably not likely, but maybe with some luck...remembering that they've been driving their bots for quite a while now.

While we have had good success with both the 3 and 15 pounders so far, they haven't fought enough to be able to say that they are world class. so we're still rookies...lol

One thing ive heard about motorama is that your sportsmanship helps determine how bad a bot will get beat up. There isnt quite as much rivalry so pete/zac whoever will take it easy on your bot once they have control of the fight so it doesnt get destroyed.
Im not trying to say your going to lose in anyway! just pointing it out. everyone wants to destroy stuff but that'll just end up hurting the competition in the long run in my oppinion.

I feel sorry for the driver's of our bots...having to face a gaggle of proven bot/drivers.

I guess the big questions is 'How badly are we going to get destroyed?'

although it was only one hit from flurry, it did catch on fire! lol

Fluffy is just going thru a fairly long weening period. 2nd at botsiq last year without a reliably spinning drum was a good showing.

This year Fluffy is hitting like a ton of bricks......although the flame thower weapon might be illegal

A few more little tweaks and Fluffy could be golden..

Looks like 15 Pounders will have a chance to scrimmage on Sat Evening and Sunday. I should have final word tonight on it but I spoke with them last night and explained our situation with having tournaments the week before and after Motorama. They would rather have more High school students being there and involved rather than saying no and turning them away.

I told them that basically we might have 2 that cant get to 12 pounds and a team coming up from Florida might have 2 or 3 that they cant convert to 12 pounds and asked if it was possible to do some matches for bragging rights and testing and the guy did not see a problem with it.

He said that more than likely we will have plenty of time on Sunday between matches and there may be time between matches on Saturday Eve.

It looks good for us and maybe a way in for them supporting a 15 pound class for next year. A good showing of 15 pounders would definately change their minds.

I am just hoping that we can get them all to 12 pounds for the event.

Our BotsIQ team may be fighting on Feb 4th and again at the MiamiDade Youth Fair in March....plus none of our students can make the trip up to Moto...

also, we are bringing 2 3's and 1 if not 2 12's...so we may be a no show on 15's, but we'd be happy to spar any 15's with our 12's...I'm sure they can handle it...(I hope)

Plus we need to keep Josh busy, so he stays awake....

On the other hand, if maybe some Plum or Bloomsburg bots show up, maybe we can slide a 15 or 2 behind the back seat on the plane (if they're still running that is).... While I expect a bunch of bots to regroup into the BLUE division, there's always the Fluffy factor..or Fluffy 2, 3, or 4 Will's always up to something...

Feel free to bring any 15's you want. Our bot numbers are down from previous
years and we should have time to run them.

If you are bringing large numbers of robots and kids please register them
all and we will do everything we can to make it more affordable for you.

Dont know if they will all make weight but we are going to try!

The Prototypes are almost finished and should be finished on the 30th..

The the real fun begins...

Machining and Tapping 3 nights a week plus All Day on Saturdays..

Someone give me the number of a good Shrink here in Pittsburgh cause I am going to need it after these builds..

By the way, You know I was just waiting to be the one who broke the 100 bot counter.

It looks like an increase from last year by 6 or 7 Bots.
