So. I'm divulging some of my bot's secrets here, but I'm getting frustrated... Right now I have 2 speed-400 motors being powered by 1 speedmax-40 ESC. The little motors are drawing enough current to trip the overcurrent protector in the speedmax-40's. I need to figure out if I can wire in one more speed controller so that they don't freeze. Can I wire this so that I have 2 speed controllers with 3 motors?

The motors have a max draw of over 20 A and I have 2 per SC, 6 total. I was planning having 10 motors (hah. what an idea...) so I have 2 extras. Total current is over 120 A so if I have 4 SC's, it will bring the A per SC down to 30+ instead of 40+

Can I just combine the outputs of the pairs of SM40s then split that into 3?

Let's just say I'm more into the mechanics and design of it all... I didn't wire the bots last year Razz

From what I know about electronics and ESC's (which isn't an endless pit of information), you could do it, but you walk the fine line of blowing up one or even both of them. The problem as I see it is that if the controllers aren't PERFECTLY synced in signal and output, the back-EMF into the other controller will be REALLY BAD! Other than that, I don't see a single problem! Laughing
