Bots of 2013!

So, I've heard that plenty of people look on the site, but few post. I feel as though that's because we feel like there isn't much of a place to step in and post mid conversation.. So.. Bots of 2013, jump in! What's going on with your bots, post-finals, Pre-Nationals, or anywhere along the trip?

I'm sure we'll get them. Unfortunately, we didn't have a camera man this time. Though I'm certain someone out there has them. Also, I cannot wait to get the video from that camera on top of Mega Nuke with Your Plum bot

Also, for those interested, I messaged one of the NRL people about bringing an extra bot to nationals if only to do grudge matches and not actually compete. This is what I got::

Hi Amanda--

It's fine to bring the third robot for grudge matches
only--the only restriction is that it still needs to pass a safety
inspection--and because it's not competing, getting it inspected will
have to be a lower priority than the robots who are competing.

That
having been said, assuming you can find a safety inspector to sign off
on it before the grudge matches start it's fine to bring it.

Yes, but then you need a full team (two people can be hard to come by... Having that issue now, actually). And I'm not sure, but currently looking into it... You might not have to pay registration for a grudge bot

Bots IQ needs to pay someone in food to be the video person.

Not much going on here
I have a drum not that could compete but isn't where I would like it to be
I burnt myself out on bots last year so I've haven't had much motivation and neither has anyone else on my team
Hopes of a wedge bot that will have to be built in one week if it happens
Also hoping I make it out to Bloomsburg this weekend

I got a confirmation that you don't need to, and actually shouldn't register Grudge-bots. Looks like there are going to be some interesting matches between Clairton and Plum.

I 100% agree. If he's out of the Competition, I don't see why he wouldn't be up for it.. It would be a great fight.

I would win with sweep bot, clearly the underdog with the most latent ability.

Heading to Bloomsburg in the AM with a drum bot that seems to spin its weapon and drive at the same time and my GoPro, pretty excited to beat out some computers

That sounds like fun. ^-^ Post the pictures/videos from the GoPro!
Speaking of which.. Mega Nuke, one of Clairton's bots had a GoPro on it during a grudge match against Plum, as well as for the rumble... I'm incredibly excited to receive those, however, the photographer has yet to get back to me since. :c

My computers to slow to watch the videos let alone up load them
Thought about putting my gopro on the not but was too nervous about it coming off lol

It was a great time, I still had drive problems, blew out a second botbitz, tried going back to the scorpion and it was messed up
When I tried going straight it went left and straight went leftish
I tried throwing to bot in to hit some stuff and had a really hat time

Yup, I think there ended up being 14 or 15 bots in the competition from 5 different schools, all of them of pretty good caliber too
Really good turn out considering the Pittsburgh regional started with 6 or 8 bots in 2006

How did you do overall?

I didn't compete for a whole list of reasons
I was just hoping to get some testing in a d foud out I'm still having drive problems
