RS 540 Motors Empty
PostSubject: RS 540 Motors   RS 540 Motors I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 12, 2011 7:21 pm

I know you have seen some of the good and bad out there so I have a question for everyone.

I am ordering RS 540 Motors for the P60 Boxes.

Banebots have them and Trossen has them.

Is one better than the other or are they the same ???

Is there a better place or price??

Trossen is cheaper so I thought I could save some money..

Thanks,

Frisco

Never bought motors from Trossen. There are differences in motors--the 540 is really just an indication of how large the can is. You should really check the specs, if available.

Two years ago we bought some gearboxes with "775" motors on them from China, and while the motors appeared fine (and the gearboxes are quite good), they burned up immediately. We replaced them with Titan 775 motors we got from Tower Hobbies, and the difference was striking (no more smoke!). Post-mortem on the Chinese knockoffs revealed that the brushes were absolute crap. So, be wary.
