rjw: spektrums are pretty much the best radios you can use and are some of the most compact recievers, your waisting time and money with others if you already have them. Some people take the cases off the br's to save a little weight and space but honestly not the best idea i think tho lol

No ...we have br's...I thought that I read about some using fm or whatever, so we want to stay with br's and the 6xi's....mutiple models , etc...

btw:: are any of you guys electroncs wizzes or do you know anyone?

We have a situation with our articulated wedge that we had a handle on, but just not the greatest solution.

If so, maybe I'll start a new thread....so as to not get more further off topic

'more further'...where no man has gone before..

There supposed to be awesome starter kits, you can work with them a little bit but its harder then designing your own bot. I think there pretty durable and i was very close to buy my own.

with the one piece base and our rookies, I wonder how many spares we'd have to buy?

20-25 dollars isnt a bad price for an entire frame, but when you need to buy a few it would get expensive lol

I thought that they used to cost more and then were discounted at rmp....I just assumed that either people weren't interestd or that they were not so good

It's a learning experience....darn bugs...just can't get rid of them

Another chassis alternative may be making a chassis out of 1/16" plate that is cut out by jigsaw and then is carefully folded into shape... The advantage with this one is you could try out chassis configurations with thin cardboard or card stock even. Once you have a good design down, all you'd need to do is print out a drawing onto adhesive paper and stick it to the metal (or just draw the cutting lines onto the metal), cut, and bend with pliers, a small hammer, and maybe a vice.

throw some tack welds on the corners lol

We actually run our CADs on a laser engraver and build an entire wooden mock up to scale before we start working with metal

hmm... if you had it on a spring setup so that it extended farther the faster the thing spun... that would give it a wicked fast spin up time Razz
