If any of you were at Robogames this past time around, multi-bots actually did pretty well! I think there were two multi-bots that placed in the top three of their respective classes. As weapon motor power density is increasing, I think that bots are going to be able to hit harder and harder, so that a 15 lb bot's weapon will be able to throw 30 lbs around, and voila! Multibot.
