Send my your resume.... Seriously, in what capacity are you going ? The problem is that especially once things get rolling, ther could be little time for you to prance around Moto looking at bikes and stuff. You seem to be a very capable wrench/repair person, is that what you would want to do? or otherwise? Also, I won't be able to deal with soso comittment. If you say that you want in, you can;t withdraw at the last minute. thnik about it...we have some time. Pm me your thoughts, wishes, etc.

| Rich,
I am sure I will have a few extra students there to do any driving you might need...
Maybe I will put the 3 experienced drivers on the side for you and let the rookies do the driving in the HS 15 Class

I appreciate the offer....
At this point , the meltys should be ready and they require little to no maintenance. My concern is with the 2 overly complicated drumbots. they need some good wrenches in order to do even minor repairs like belt changes.
So drivers is not necessarily the issue. It's more of a need for hands on with good hand skills that I am lacking.
I don't want to spend the entire event sitting at a table with a magnifying headpiece on. I'd like to enjoy this at least a bit...lol
Bottom line is whoever drives a drumbot needs to have a wrench hand to support him or be able to do it himself.
If you have some kids that fit the bill, let me know....they'll most certainly learn from it, tha I can promise you.
also, I think that anyone of my bots has the potential to do very well...I have no pigs in the poke...

| I'll have to talk to Dan and see if he is going out there with us again....
If he is then me and him can wrench and the more experienced kids can drive them.

| the biggest problem is little Sting....
there are almost 100 screws in the darn thing and they are all really small metrics. Very easy to strip the heads on them 1 and 1.5mm hex...a total pain in the butt.
the 12 drum at least has screws that can take a power tool to remove/install, but our mlec kids still manage to strip them once in a while, on their 15's
In the heat of the moment, if allens are not on straight and swaure to the fastener, bad things happen.

| Oh man, I haven't even started thinking about next semester yet... this semester so far is kinda ridiculous for me, which is why I haven't really been on here much. I'll know once next semester starts whether I'm going or not, but if I do go then I'd be happy to help you out. | |
