| Hey I've never worked with UHMW before and need some help
What is the best way to hold a UHMW frame together? Self-tapping screws? Or to tap the UHMW and thread machine screws into it?
Thanks -Alex _________________ AlexUdanis.com

| i generally use a combination of wood screws and machine screws. i use the wood screws to hold major framing sections together and machine screws for stuff like the top and bottom plates |

I would imagine that self tapping screws shouldn't be removed and screwed back in as much without enlarging the hole. If you going to keep taking something on and off I would say machine screws would be best. _________________ AlexUdanis.com

I entirely didn't realize I could do that, but it seems very logical. After looking in to those on Master Carr, I found that they made special helicoils just for plastics those seem like they would work perfect. You would get the holding power of the wood/plastic screws, with the removability of a machine screw! I know what I am using!
