Okay guys. Since there are so many of you, I'm kind of hoping to get some feedback on a potential venture for the Robot MarketPlace.

I have a few different questions -
- How many of you buy cheap Chinese stuff from Hobby King instead of not-cheap Chinese stuff from stores like RMP?
- If RMP were to sell almost HobbyKing-cheap stuff, branded as our own, would you buy from us instead of HK for a few dollars more? (remember how quickly we usually ship!)
- When faced with, say, a Thunder Power 45C battery and a Robot MarketPlace brand 45C battery for significantly cheaper, which would you go with?

Thanks, and you can probably expect to see RMP brand stuff before the end of the summer!

THe biggest gripe I have heard (And I share) against Hobbyking is bad customer service and really long shipping.
If you guys were to sell stuff at prices in between your current prices and HK's I'd totally buy it.

What type of "stuff" exactly?

I tried for a long time to find the manufacturer of the Rhino lipoly's to no avail. I brought in a bunch of samples from different companies with the intention of having FingerTech lipolys, but I couldn't get over the untried-ness of them (even though they performed to spec).

I've never had a problem with Rhinos (and have sold hundreds with no complaints) or the Turnigy motors, radios or battery chargers, and just wouldn't trust some other no-name brand without lots and lots of trials. I expect customers would have the same reservations.

In my previous expierence turnigy lipos of the less than 3000mah size were a bust as I would end up with a 60/40 ratio of dead batteries out of the box I never tried the rhino cells but thats because the c ratings were low a few years back. now All I use is thunderpower 45c packs now and havent fried a single cell since or had one get all poofy or overheated Suspect and the 6c charge rate is unbeatable to fully charge a 850mah 45c pack in less than 8 minutes is wild.

We are ordering some Lipos for testing... and believe me, they will be tested. They'll be put in cars, planes, helis, robots, etc. Especially etc. We're also going to send some out to be abused by a few specially selected abusers.

If we like them, then we'll sell them. If not, then we'll try someone else.

Kurtis, I have no idea where HK gets their batteries from. Our dealer prices on many batteries straight from the manufacturers is in many cases higher than HK's retail prices!

Alex, firstly, way to count lol. Secondly, we're looking at cheaper brushless motors too. If we can get some comparable to Turnigy, we'll totally do it. But again, there's definitely going to be a lot of testing involved. Don't worry.

Basically, on the table now are:

- Lipos (RC car hard cases and a full range of normal lipos)
- Brushless car motor/esc combos for 1/8th and 1/10th scale
- Brushless outrunners
- Brushless ESCs (we may replace our DYS ESCs with our own brand)
- Radios
- Battery chargers

Have you guys thought about selling the stuff banebots used to sell? They had some great motors for the insect classes. I haven't been able to find anything retail that is comparable to their 36mm gearmotors.
