| I like the Rotomax, I think 2 would work great from some crazy drum I do have a hard time accepting that it is a smaller less powerfull motor at close to twice the cost. I guess we all have to get over the 80-100, at least a $100 version. I do believe that if they return, it would be +$150 As of now, I know there are still a few out there, under diferent names. The 130Kv version is easier to find, but 180Kv's can still be found. Of course not at HK's prices but still acceptable IMO. Let me know if anyone is interested, lets see if we can't give Witch Doctor a run for its money at BotsIQ this year | |

| ok, so I just got a quote back for some motors I was inquiring about. The motors I found are called EMP 80-100/06
These are them: http://en.xingyaohua.com/web/en/products_display.asp?pid=19&id=13&proid=80
Looking at the stats, they are basically the same Turnigy motors.
If anyone is interested let me know, the quote I recieved was for 10 motors, $149.00 a piece and $140 for shipping to Puerto Rico (where I live) 4-5 days shipping time after payment.
looks like a winner to me. The minimum order is 5, so I need someone else to buy 2-3 motors.
Again let me know if anyone is interested.

| I have some Seniors working up a plan for a 120 drum, but they have been uninspired to actually JOIN this forum, even tho I keep telling them it's really, really useful. They have decided to finance the robot themselves, so it's up to them to agree to order some with you. I will remind them tomorrow that the offer is open (and sounds VERY good to me), and to contact you through this forum ASAP if they want to go on this. | |

| As one of the aformentioned "uninspired" seniors, I can happily say that we've agreed to buy two of the EMP 80-100/06, Kv 180, 1750g, 7000W outrunners with you guys. Send the shipping/ payment details to DuBard (if he is willing to particiapte in this) and I so that we can put things into motion.
Thank you!

| You guys might want to look into shipping the five motors to Miami and the rest to PR rather then the other way, seems like it might save you a little on shipping | |

(Directed at gt and DuBard) gotcha! See, I have found that often the trick to forcing someone to do what you need is to say something that pis really annoys them. You at least get a dirty look, and maybe a fight, but you get some kind of response.

| lol Sounds good then!
I will get all the quotes ready for this week, 5 motors with shipping to either PR or Miami. and compare.
Is Cholo interested also? Since the minimum order is 5, if they plan to upgrade it would be a good idea to get in on it now.
I think the best/safest way to go about sending money is paypal, thats how i plan on paying for the motors. when I get the quotes for shipping 5 motors we can get all the details figured out.
I am excited! | |

| no prob!
Actually I will have an extra one after this purchase, although if you want more than one you should tell me before I send out for all of them.
80-100/06 specs:
diameter 80mm length 122mm shaft 12mm weight 1750g
Kv 180 Watts 7000 wire winds 6 resistance 17m(ohm) idle current 3.5 cells lipo 6-18
As of now, the price is $180 shipped to me, which is better than the 50cc motors on HK
I don't have a problem posting the prices, I'm not looking to make a profit off them, I just wanted a fairly priced solution for our 120#, so anyone that is interested let me know!
of course I could just stick it in a flat rate box to get it to you for cheap, unless you want another method of shipping
BTW you should post that EV project, sounds like fun!

| That was something that I was going to ask also!
Well as far as I can tell, the best option out there is the CastleCreations 160HV
but.... it seems there is a new version, aparently some of the V1's would burst into flames or something.
as of now, you can't actually buy V2, just says "available soon" and they have an exchange program for people with V1 (for free as far as I can tell)
I haven't contacted them yet on availability so in terms of ESC I not completely sure
What are your thoughts?

| I would definitely be interested in the ICE160HV!
something that I was thinking about also is that if they have an exchange program, I might be able to find a V1 for cheap and then just send it out.
Haven't researched it yet, but seems like a way to save some $$$
the Hydra for an EV aplication seems like a good idea, a simple "radiator" could be made with a small pump to circulate the fluid.
although I think the best thing you should do is add sensors, "remotecontact" is the person to talk to about this though. He has plenty of experience with electric motorcycles.
There is also a very good forum, Endless sphere those guys know what there doing!
I'll send you a PM about the 160HV

| Does the ICE actually handle the same voltages as the HV? I thought they were quite different. | |

| The model is the ICE2160HV
http://www.castlecreations.com/products/phoenix-ice2-hv.html
If I am not mistaken, they have the ICE and the ICEHV
the main difference being the input voltage
out of curiosity, what are your students planning on using?

| I think the HV160 with 6s2p Lipos. They've got some great big batteries, but I'm not sure of the mAh. I remember now that the ICE did come in a HV, but if I recall correctly, the ICE require a lot of airflow that the standard HVs do not. Really, I'm trying to just let the students worry about this stuff. Have you heard from JSawyer about the motors? | |

| We will try and get the money to you ASAP, but we need to get money into a PayPal account first. It takes them a few days to authorize bank account associations with PayPal, so we'll send it as soon as they have done so. It's 352 for the two motors, but how much should we send for the PR to MIA shipping? | |
