| This year we have had increased problems with these godforsaken Banebots esc's. One of our robots was working perfectly fine and we got it back together and it worked for a bit, and then the left esc stopped going in reverse. We replaced it with a new esc and it worked fine. Now a few days later the other wheel now only goes one direction.
Does anyone know what is going on here?

| The problem happened with and without the mixer.
We rebound it numerous times, did nothing. Neutral is at real neutral on controller, both esc's have solid green lights so they are connected.

| ours would get real sluggish but i think we got it fixed now by forcin more amps through the system, at least thats what my teams electronics guys said | |

| Not sluggish. Every once in a while the once problem esc will move forward, but stop and not work again for a bit.
They aren't getting hot and then doing this, the one esc is just being problematic.
The direction lights both go on, it just only goes one direction. Could it be the motor by some chance?

| Possibly, but i highly doubt it, with ours our weapon motor will fire up and as it is doin that our bot will twitch back, one of my guesses is to check the connection leads on the motors the could be loose | |

| The weapon motor isn't even wired in so I'm unsure. I guess we have to check everything even more thorough to make sure. | |

| try taking a volt meter to all connection points and see if your gettin currents everywhere and then use process of elimination to narrow it down (may not even be banebot esc's) | |

| I could be a BEC war. Try cutting/disconnecting all but one of the red 'signal' wires.
It could also be loose connections where the wires go into the BB-12-45. I have had that problem more than once.
good luck--the 'this shouldn't be happening' problems, especially when they are erratic/inconsistent are the absolute worst.

| 6 cell li-ion total in the bot, but the extra 2-cells only runs through the weapon. To answer briefly, 4.
I'm doubting the BEC war thing. We were told that last year and it didn't make anything run better.

| Multiple bec can definitely cause a problem Did you try plugging in just a single bad esc by itself to see what it did

| Still doesn't work. Binding doesn't fix, trim doesn't fix. | |

| Have you tried hooking the motor up to an identical ESC to see what happens? I know for my bot, every ESC I tried did the same thing to the same motor, and in multiple different receiver outputs. therefore I assume it would be the motor. | |

| I will swap the escs between motors, but I bet the esc will still have similar issues. I haven't had time because of Easter things going on. If I ever get a few minutes tomorrow I will try it. | |

| If you have a replacement ESC, then just replace the darn thing and go on with life. It's an interesting problem, but probably not worth your time.
As rare as bb-12-45's are getting to be, I would recommend you do NOT throw it away. When you have time later, you can put it on the bench and try to revive it, or if that doesn't work, see if you can part out another bad one to cobble together one that works. There is some tricky soldering, but I have had success with this as well as 'chip stacking' them to get an ESC that's about twice the power but still about the same size.
But my main point--replace it now, worry about why later.

HAHAH! I appreciate the advice, but... Much easier said than done.. I can't swap the esc's here at home because the bullet connects have shrunk together going from the bb to the motor so I will have to wait. I did however take the + lead off of the problem esc and it fixed nothing. I even tested it with only the 4 cell battery and everything else works properly minus the one esc going only one way. It will go the other way occasionally, but it will do so more often when it is first powered up.
