Subject: Lipoly batteries

Hi

We are having a problem finding out if the NEW lipoly rules governing 120 lbs bots also applies to the 15 lbs division.

Some 15 bots were allowed to compete with Lipo's at a local event

The latest rules that we could find state that Lipos are allowed in the HS 120 class, which seems to be governed by battlebots rules, while the botsiq rules still state that they are not in the 15 lbs. division

You clarification on this is appreciated.

Thank You

Richard

Here is the response......from Jose Negron

Teamjab,

Not out yet, but yes LIPO is authorized for 15lb using the same rules the 120lb. Hopefully these will be up soon.

If your robot uses Li-Po Batteries here is what you need to know:

1) Review Appendix B of the BattleBots Building Rules (for your particular division: Pro/College or High School)

2) Review section 3.10 of the BattleBots Tournament Rules

3) You must bring your own charger and charging bags:

Example charging bags:

- LipoSack: http://www.liposack.com/

- Lipo Guard: http://www.xheli.com/lipo-safe-bag.html

3) BattleBots will provide a special charging table for Li-Po batteries

Let me know if you need anything else.

So it looks like a done deal

Not a big deal.....unless you are and had to make sacrifices in order to make weight.

So, while Lipos may or may not exist, they will be allowed....

No ruling the on continuom transfunctioner as of yet...
