2014 Prelims

Who is Psyched is Competition season! Everyone ready for Prelims? Is anyone rushing to get their bots done? As a member of the Plum team, we are not done YET but we will be finished and ready to fight. The 10 Day count down has started.

looks like the first time since we started I will not be there.  I may try to swing out for Saturday to watch.  Maybe.

Yesterday still n shock 2 got first palace in the A bracket, our other bot really didn't fight that much it had 2 buys because of forfeits and had to got up against me and lost then lost to greater latrobes wedged but it was a good day

South Park Warframe was one of those forfeits. We were trying our hardest to be ready for our fight with Still N' Tact (or American N' Tact'ful?) but we couldn't get our beater spinning up for some reason. Knowing you guys' wicked reputations in battle (not out of battle, you are all lovely and helpful people!), we decided it was best to forfeit since we had no form of real offence and our plow was recently damaged.

I'm hoping to volunteer for the finals if I can make it home that weekend

It seems like everyone is adapting a tactic of ramming the opponent into the wall and stalling  over and over and over   

It would be nice if people actually fought and not exploited this loophole...

That's what most people want to do because fillis the lady judge loves wedges and people just want to pin guys in to corner even if they have weapons

Well sometimes people's beaters don't reach their opponent's robots from certain angles; thats what happened in Warframe v To the Roof. To the Roof couldn't reach us from the front because of our plow. Then their weapon slowly stopped working and we were both left pushing each other

From what I've seen of the weaponed bots, too many people are using weapons that are too small to hit anything, and ramps that are so big they don't let the weapon hit when it should.

Increasing the pin time from 10 to 20 seconds is ridiculous... I guess it isn't that bad for weaponless bots because that means each pin is 20 seconds of them being safe from a weapon. The biggest thing I don't like that I saw was that when they called for, "separation" one bot would back up a foot at most, then when they said go it would just ram the other bot back into the wall. They either need to head back to their starting locations, or have a measurement for full separation.
