RockO had some drive motor issues last year.... We were over volting the motors and burning up the contacts left and right.... We are going to run dual voltage batteries this year as we learn by the year and the design.... 12 volt to the drives and 19 to the weapons..... Should be a lot better and more reliable design electronically...
That Bot got sent to the wall 8 times in a rumble and still landed and would drive away...
I think Steve was driving it in the rumble with you Josh!

I think that pic was whenever we stepped up to go against eXecutor. Redemption was in my car with ZERO electronics in it.
Man that was so much fun to rush to put it together.
Noone else wanted to go against them. Chickens..
We were actually ready to go again after they beat us but they wouldn't let us.

I felt bad for them traveling all that way for nothing....... We had a bent blade and bent shaft or we were going to go up against them.... Probably would have gotten launched!

Come on Steph.....My son Rocco would just fly straight at them and hit everything that was in the way....Including the wall, door, etc...That weapon is still intact today though... HAHAHA
Cody-Alex, we are building at least 2 if not 3 bots that kinda follow the slanted sides body style with 1.5 to 2 inch height....I even think Rocco Rebuild is getting changed to 4wd and slanted sides...
The weapons will of course be entirely different: 1) drum 2) beater 3) vertical disc
The vert disc will have the weapon motor sitting directly behind the weapon out of the frame though (Boxed in of course)... We are kinda experimenting with that one to see what the weight will actually come to... Be prepared to see some serious Gyro effects from that one...
Steph is doing the Rocco rebuild so see if you can give him some tips on making that one better... He is going from: 1) 2wd to 4wd.... 2) 3 inch height to 2 inch height 3) 4 inch wheels to 2 3/8 wheels 4) drum to a new drum design ???? 5) square sides to slanted Ti 6) all internals pretty much the same with a weapon motor change...maybe?? 7) drive will be similar to rellik design with slanted sides
Take a look at the old pics and see if you guys can help him get this one designed for Nationals...
Kovalczyk (the other student on here) is doing the vertical disc with a drive similar to Rellik also...
He is putting a slanted Ti wedge front on there with 2- 7 inch vert disc seperated by 2 or 3 inches...
The discs will drop through the wedge front similar to K2...
Thanks... FRISCO

sorta like exterminator?
Here's what i found out with trying to re-do original shockwave Redesigning an already built bot is extremely hard, harder then designing it in the first place It makes it even harder when you red loctite half the bot together permenatly While bots are inatimate they do gain and randomly lose weight somehow someway! Take your time to plan things out, redoing it will take longer, if you can make it from wood or something else first youll save alot of your resources and money
Past that just ask questions and have others help you, they usually will see the problems you dont Good Luck!
p.s. please dont build an aftershock or SnS clone and put stripes on it to disguise it, it still a clone

No they wont be clones, just a similiar side design with the angled wheel protectors.......
With the use of Ti this year, we are finally going to slant the sides....
We wanted to do it the last 2 years but 6061 wouldnt last long with slants

We might actually go with UHMW on the side slants.... We had those wheels guards on Doomsday last year and they took a beating.... It looks like something was biting at them but that is something that can be filed away after each match.... Plus it is extremely cheaper to use UHMW than Ti.
You guys were sick last year putting that coating on the slants. After you took that hit and not even a scratch come out of it, I was convinced.... But the money and resources just are not there to get that kind of stuff done.... I did like the way it threw us over you though..... thats kinda why I am convincing our kids to go with that slanted side design.... Plus, I know we are going to have to face Surgical Strike sooner or later and that design is great defense for an undercutter..
