| I wasn't suggesting that you command your kids to do it simple raise the idea to them.
As an advisor you have some influence do you not?

| Paul Kynerd has the final word.
We have talked about the whole situation on many occasions and are open to change and travel if needed and if we can raise the funding.
I'm not sure how the timing would work, but the students are into it enough that if travelling is the only solution, I'm pretty sure it could happen.
Again, while Nola is making the effort, and if there is enough attendance, then we will continue to support the Miami event(s).
This year's schedule is pretty much set in stone....let's see what happens and if there will be changes for next year.
Cody: Bots worldwide seemed to be pretty well supported. After that, things seemed to fall off the edge. If the downhill trend continues, Miami schools will either have to travel or give it up.
I hope that some kind of unification will happen soon and that things will grow rather than disappear.
What's the current situation with the NRL. Don't teams have to qualify ? or is it open to everyone?

| I believe it is Open to anyone
I think that the winners of local tournaments win the right to go for free or for dirt cheap. But everyone else is welcome to go as long as they can afford to make the trip

| I believe that the revenue problem will probably keep a true national from happening in the near future.
We have felt the money crunch issue this year and our main focus for the first 3 months has been fundraising instead of building.
We will be out of money right after Motorama so I just hope we can put together a few more Hoagie Sales and Candy Bar Sales to get us to DTMA and NRL this year.
Building 3 new Bots every Year takes a toll on the Revenue from year to year.
But my plan is to have enough Bots and Parts to have 3 kids per Robot in the future.
That may happen next year, I think we are up to 7 or 8 running bots after this year.
I think that we can possibly have a year round team at this point.
I still have 2 years left with my 3 advanced kids and there are 4 freshmen that are taking a good interest to the sport.
Ideal situation is to have 1 advanced kid on every bot. (Team Leader)
Then the new kids can learn a lot the first year and have 3 good years of building..
We will switch back to 1 new bot per year after this year.
That should take us from $4000 per year for builds to $1200 per year for a build.
Which in turn should free up some money for traveling and registration.
Lets hope the manufacturing and educational fields come out of this recession and get back to an involved state in the fields of hands on learning.
Right now I think we are in a state of here is a book read it and learn it and no you cant excel from it because we cant afford it.

| Is that how you get most of your money, we are self funded and we have alot of sucess by just asking companies for money. Sounds weird, but we send out packets with info about the team, etc, and alot of the time they send back checks. | |

| We have done candy sales, chocolate covered pretzels hoagies you name it to help get us to national competitions. We also send out letters about what were doing with a highlight dvd so they can actually see what we do which works well | |

| yah and we have a robot rally every year, we rent out a hall, and send out invitations to companies, and invite them, do raffles, etc. it works really well, and people just learn about what we do which is nice, cause we get no recognition really | |

| yea thats assuming everyone registers but assuming makes an booty outa you and me. itd just be a large cost we risk by signing up before its clear the 15 pound event will be worth attending since the botsiq debacle im conservative about this stuff | |
