| Hey guys, is it just me or does all CAM software suck. I'm using gibbscam right now and am having problems with solidcam. Most of the software I've seen are old, rudimentary (look like they were made in the 90's) and lack any features for advanced CNC machining.
What do you guys use? Is Unigraphics any good?

| Alrighty then. I need to get me a license of MasterCAM. Where do you guys get your post processors? They're not interchangeable between different software's are they? It'd have to be MasterCAM specific. | |

You should be able to get a post for just about any machine directly from cnc software. Which machine(s) do you have?

| Haas Mini Mill.
You mean the post comes with the software? Gibbs doesn't do that. We had to buy it separately from them.

I bet that the Mastercam educational division has a free post for that mill...they ar very common. Also the generic fanuc post included, can be midified to work with most machines that accept standard G and M codes...it's easy to modify, I've done many over the years.

| Oh, I didn't know you could edit post processor files. I'll have to look into that. Thanks RJW. | |
