Any closeups of the drum?
Was it a 1 piece deal? I see a pair of teeth on one side and a round belt?
Any video?

Ok...so a standard non-staggered design
How did it do?
How fast did they spin it?
Did it fight any of the beaters and large drums?

WOT, only vs other verts....
also try spinning the wrong way = someone's something is gonna break
vs wedges, etc. slow it down
Need to charge at wot....
Sting wmd vs Fluffy 2 = how it's supposed to work
need good driver, lots of practice and has to know what he's trying to do.....
Not always easy

We were running 5 cell on that so it was over 40K...
2.5 diameter solid S7 Non Staggered 4 tooth drum...
Designed to beat Plum and the other big high speed drums..
Did what we planned and performed very well but did not get real good bites...
Our UHMW was too low and we kept getting hung up (wouldnt let us test drive in the arena)
Steve was still getting used to controlling the weapon so he really did not slow it down enough to really hit anyone...
He is used to the bigger drums and needs a little more fight time with it before he can control it good.
He is a pretty good driver but getting hung up has its drawbacks....
I will say that we had absolutely no damage to this bot after prelims or finals....
Just some bad luck with a switch contact bar cracking on us as we turned it on in our first match (one hit done) then our armor draging the floor and preventing us from getting position on bots (actually made us get hit a few more times than normal)
I thought it was Steve screwing up driving but we found out the armor was hitting the floor causing him to stop then turn then stop then turn the other direction...
I think the only thing we are changing from this to next year is the front ramps....
What do you think Titanium or Stainless Front Ramps???

imo forget stainless...if y.ou have the eight for stainless, maybe hardened tool steel. make them pay for hitting you

a FULLY charged 5s (4.2v per cell) could see over 40k for a bit, initially? but probably not likely

1.875 to 1.75 diameter weapon pulleys gives me the ratio to go over 40K..
We get 18.7 V out of the batteries for a bit. then drops to 16.8 at the end.
Math figures out

Def titanium or tool steel. Everything else would give it a more solid piece to bite into and stainless is really bendy.

Ya Alex... I had a 1.75 pulley made at prelims but didnt use it and used a 1.125 pulley and then went a little bigger 1.875 at finals...
If you look, the belt was rubbing the top and bottom plastic and burning a groove in it because we went up a little in size...
After you guys hits us at prelims I thought we needed a little more then i found out that the ESC was not programmed right and after we reprogrammed it it was flying..
the one problem we are having is the o ring belt balooning up when we hit top speed.
I was a little worried about spinning backwards and not using any magnets to hold us down...
I would of hated to see us flying through the ceiling after spinning down.
The bot can take it and still run but A little worried there.

not overly impressive
3 thoughts....outside of not having a spinning drum for most of the match (mlec'ish in that respect)
1) too many teeth ...would be twice as good or half as bad with single or staggered teeth
2) I hate the inverted op of most non-symetricals
3) damage to plastic severly limite by fact that other bot's drum dtopped spinning as well.
Any other video where it performed better?

That is a good learning video
1) 6s 45c lipo pack = can dump alot of amps
2) rookie driver actually never let up on the drum (wot) until near the end...but he ws told to keep it spinning and avoid getting damaged by anything the horizontal (with MAG motor) could dish out.
3) finally gets a good bite and removes opponents weapon by slowing down the drum
4) This is a 40k+ drum, 6s with almost 1:1 ratio, but also this bot has a true single tooth drum.
Any of you guys playing with hs drums need to look at these types of videos and figure out how to setup what you have and how to drive/not drive a bot with this type of weapon. Look up in Riobotz....single tooth vs forward speed for bite, in section on drums and spinning weapons.
the video below shows how a hs small diameter drum can take out a much bigger drum (6 seconds into the fight, it's over). The drum needs to spin tho..and fast. Hard to find a bigger drm /beater than Fluffy...ymmv
