| What is the steel welded ring that you have pictures of everywhere? Is it part of the shell?
Beautiful robot by the way!

| The steel ring is the weapon's teeth - We have to redo it because (silly me) I thought it would be balanced if I did the same thing on both sides right over the seam where the two half-circles were welded together - I just didn't bother to check if the two semicircles were the same size. Of course, they weren't so I need to redo the whole thing... but yes. That ring is the Dethinator's teeth. And thank you. If our bot doesn't fight well, at least it'll look pretty... | |

Of course! It would have been too easy if it was correct! What's the fun in that? I hope it works out for you. what kind of steel for the teeth?

| hahaha re like redos...
the ring and teeth are all 4130 steel, unhardened, but we may decide to harden it. The whole ring needs to weigh about .75 lbs for us to make weight, so we need to keep that in mind for try #2...

| Wow, that is a very nice looking robot and I can't wait to see it in action.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of spin motors are you using and do you have any photos of the shell when it's not spinning?
Once again, great bot.

| tryin to size up the competition, eh? I can say that our weapon system isn't what you'd expect. I can say that our shell has a lot of holes in it. I can even give you a picture. and then we added MORE holes to the top... but i'm not gonna tell you what the motors are yet. | |

| haha actually it's not sharpie. It's layout fluid. it's how we scribed our hole circles and stuff... basically paint the whole surface and scribe a very fine line through it. It's much more accurate than a sharpie line... | |

| Size up the competition? Ah man, I'm hurt. I thought this was a forum for the mechanically gifted to exchange ideas and build on one another. But if you think I'm trying to size up the competition...WELL!
Just kidding. actually I've seen the holes cut at an angle on the shell wall design before. I was debating cutting out the name of the robot into the shell but I'm worried about the structural integrity of it.
WOW HOLD ON! Is that shell one piece? It's not rolled and welded? Billet? WHAT! Please tell me my eyes are playing tricks on me this late at night.

P.S. About those motors. I was trying out a new set called AXI 2826/08 Gold series. I've never tried them before but your motors looked like brush motors so my curiosity got the best of me.
BESIDES, I'M IN THE COLLEGE DIVISION! I could only fight you in a grudge match remember?

| hahaha yeah we're poor. and can't afford brushless stuff... *sigh* So we resort to several (more than 5) Speed-400 motors. They're small but there are a lot of them... and yes. Our shell is ONE PIECE. not welded. not bent. not cast. If you lift up the shaft collar on the top, you will see some laser-etched information regarding its origins, but i will leave that up to you to guess... | |

| Cookware is always so nicely balanced, it's a shame more people don't think of using it for spinner shells. Will actually made one some time back with a wok for the shell.
As far as motors go, check out that link I gave you guys on the blog. They've got some good deals on there (batteries, too).

| Was it some high tech pasta drain? hehe? Please don't' kick me off the forum. Lack of sleep is making my brain rot.
Actually, since you guys seem to take frequent visits to the airplane scrap yard, and it looks like something that might come out of a jet engine (maybe propeller) , I'm going to go with some rotary part of a plane. But I'm not sure what.
Oh and dikem (layout cutting fluid, excuse my spelling) is what my team has always used to paint our robots. The blue and red come out perfect and with hardly any effort.

DUDE THAT'S AWESOME! I would never have thought to use that. No way I could get my electronics to fit in that constraint. SenaiERI

Using the speed-40 speed controllers I see. Very nice.

| Are you using ABS for you motor supports? In my experience, abs was not good material for Battlebots. Is that working ok? | |

| ummm.... welll.... uhhh.... we haven't had to yet lol. Miami will be its debut performance. But if we had to, everything does come apart... And we have lots of spare motors and they're all interchangeable... and no, it's not ABS. in fact, I had to google ABS cause i'd never heard of it before... | |
