| These have somewhat become the default 3lb gearmotor: http://kitbots.com/product.sc?productId=20&categoryId=1
The FingerTech TinyESC should handle them decently with the included .01uF capacitor- http://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ft-tinyESCv2
http://www.botbitz.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59 also has some decent esc's based off of hobbyking brushless esc's.

I ordered a pair to have a look see, but didn't find that info on the kitbots sight Thanks I haven't really seen proper specs anywhere, they're slightly modified/tweaked gearboxes from china/ebay that seem to generally do well. On the fingertech site they've got video of a test and mention that the stall is around 5A ( http://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ft-tinyESCv2 ) - rjw wrote:

thanks!! This is a much harder question. I've had a good deal of luck with the Plush series esc from Hobbyking ( http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__186__182__Speed_Controllers-TURNIGY_ESC.html ) so I'd lean toward giving them a shot in a beetle if you don't need reversing. Pete (Kitbots) uses a Plush 25 on his 3lb bar spinner kit As far as motor, there's a ton of options on Hobbyking. I typically replace the shafts with hardened O1 tool steel (mid-high 40's HRC) to get some serious toughness that the stock shafts often lack. Something in this section will probably be about right- http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?whl=XX&idCategory=521&v=&sortlist=W&LiPoConfig=&CatSortOrder=desc I think this is somewhat close to the one he uses in his kit- http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18225__Turnigy_D3530_14_1100KV_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor.html

| http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__23928__Corona_20amp_Brushless_Speed_Controller_2_6s.html i have one of these in my 3yet to detonate it. 1000rpm motors with 2 1/4" wheels at 3s is a really nice speed/power combo. | |

http://robowars.org/forum/[/quote[/url]] Working on that, but I'm not sure which firmware version to use, just yet. In the meantime, I ordered a few escs from Botbitz... thanks
