also since im not in the miami area could you explain what starbot is i see it thrown around all over the forum. is it a school or a company or something?

it's a place where a whole bunch of schools go to work on robots. machine tools all around, and run by Bill and Nola Garcia.

he's been talking about a competition that weekend for nearly a year now, and not just 15's
I wouldnt be suprised if theres only about half as many bots at this years "nationals" as to last year.
Sorta one of the reasons our advisor refuses to go.

I guess we'll have the same amount of robots. a lot of the 15's at nationals last year were from Miami, and Bloomsburg is gonna go regardless of the location. It could probably be on a remote island in the arctic, only accessible by walrus, and they'd still go! you should come down!!

I wish we could go to Miami with no problem but the well has ran dry and more fundraisers are looking kinda glim.

We might not even get to go to RFL Nationals the way it looks.

6 Robots can eat up money real quick.

I'll see once the semester changes next week what I have to work with and how many students might want to put in their time with the one up here.

I think I can get ROTC involved to do a lot of the logistics ???

We will know what is going to go on the day after our PreLims.

Without several schools and universities helping out I think it might be too much for just me to do on my own.

If NERC Jumps in and CAL backs it with the arenas at a small cost then it might be a go.

We will just have to wait and see.

Hey, does anyone know anything about the new dates for the competition.
My advisers are starting to question what "mid April" really means and want a defiant date.

Senai, My advisor felt the same way so I emailed Greg and NOla, and they said they were simply working out the final details: They are saying the 14-18th in MIAMI(Coconut Grove According to WIll) and that they should post all details on the websites by the end of the week.

Sweet. Thanks for the update dude. I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen. Buuuut, since we have a semi official date kind of set in stone, lets get to that robot buildin.
I'm gonna go practice my sweet talking skillz and see if I can't get some free parts.
