| unlike rfl events, spin down time in IQ is limited to 30 seconds, from full speed and then with transmitter shut off. at our last event, one of our bot drums took 29.5 seconds to come to a stop.... I also agree with Kyle about the shaft 1 of the disadvantages of high speed weapons, is that they are more prone to being affected by minor imperfections, such as small shaft bends, blade chips, etc. You can go from super smooth to it doesn't spin anymore, with 1 hit. Look forward to seeing you at Bots IQ....!!! btw: welcome to the forum..could you please introduce yourself in the geneal section. Also, maybe contact Dan (moderator) he could set you up with a team section | |

| failed the spin down time and their sides are too vulnerable to get hit and bent from an undercutter.
BUT it is only their second year and a great improvement from what they have had in the past...
Great job PUNXY! | |

| Yes the spin down time we are allowed is 90 seconds, ours takes 79 seconds. Also it will spin up faster we were just taking it up slowly. We are competing at Century III mall in west mifflin, pa. thanks for all the complements. | |

| Spin Down is 60 seconds so check your times...
I would hate to see something like that throw you for a loop at the mall...

| It all depends on what rule set you are following. The NRL spin down is 30 seconds and the BBIQ spin down is the same unless someone finally was able to get them to switch it back. I got them to modify the spin down to 90 seconds after so many teams could not make the 30 second spin down in 2007. But in 2009, the rules that were posted had it back at 30 seconds again. At the 2009 event in San Fran they allowed it to be 60 seconds, basically a compromise between 30 and 90 seconds.
You have two ways to go, lower the top RPM, enable the brake on the brushless controller or provide some type of friction to slow down the weapon when free spining.
I saw the video before it got removed and was impressed with the overall design. Another example of PA bringing out the big guns...
Great job! | |

| Last year at the local Century III comp it was 30. It will still be the same. So slow it down boys. Or put a removeable brake on it during inspection and take it off for battle. but thats illegal/cheating.. | |

| all untill your called on it lol I dont think that would be the best move since people will probably hover over it in the test box before each match
you could either keep thinking its 90 or look at the section of the tech rules that I cited before

| All of our robots use dynamic braking and always stop in less then 10 sec. If you check your esc specs, it should have an option to turn that on but most are on by default.
Nice drum btw. Lets see it hit something.

| Carmen... Our local Bots IQ agent sent an email out about posting video of the running of weapons outside of a test box and the safety involved.
So no one is allowed to post video of tests outside of a test box unless the weapon is off and just driving it around.
