| ya.. I'd use 1/8-3-16" 7075 before titanium.. cheaper, thicker, and not as annoying to machine | |

| Here's my philosophy If your opponent DARES to hit you...make them pay the price. We've had big hard weapons take chunks out of grade 5 Ti and the stuff isn't cheap. If you shock mount your electronics, why not make them pay the price....chipped teeth, lots of red sparks and no real damage to your armor. at botsIQ this year, our S7 weapons dug into Ti, alu, etc with absolutely NO damage, while chunks were coming out of opponents. Only vs fluffy, did our drum teeth (sharp corners) get totally chipped off and rounded Make them pay, I say......no free ride Our Ti bots use the Ti as acombo of structure and armor, so they can't really be changed. But you guys slapping .08" to 1/8" Ti plates as armor only, should consider the hard stuff in future bots if you have the weight. again jmo fwiw | |
