| Anyone ever thought that ESCs for robots are either enormous & resilient or small & prone to catching fire? I think we should fix this problem. I'm interested in looking into finding the schematics for a mid to high performance open-source ESC, and then refining it to fit into the smallest package possible. | |

If you're interested in selling any eventual (and currently hypothetical) ESCs, the way I've seen it work out is the schematics are openly available - except you also give the option of buying pre-made and tested ESCs right alongside that. Usually people are more than happy just to buy them than go through the pain of building one themselves. | |
