Redemption's Ti Side Plates that acted as armor, main frame supports and weapon supports worked great. But that was Titanium.

With Icarus/Boreas i must use cheaper aluminum.

First off i am correct in assuming that the best structural aluminum is 2024?

Second, which one of these designs would be stronger for the intense hits that Boreas could possibly deal out?

The difference between them is the way i connect my front plates. But would the second one be just as strong or stronger than the first because of the more material underneath the weapon point?

im pretty sure the moment created is right on the y axis, basically i think that extra material will only help the front from tipping which it will still do
plus with the extra material your drum wont be able to get a bite till higher in the revolution
