After looking at ALl of the youtube video of melty robots (that I could find), I think that this one is the coolest
A 1 pounder from Finland....this thing takes and gives out a beating and it keeps on coming back for more. Also, it is built and held together with plastic and tape, etc.
I haven't seen one perform any better than this..also, some nice slow mo replays at the end

Here's a possible 2 wheeled candidate. 3 pounder...
Pretty much perfect CG.....finally all of the little electronics stuff has shown up, so will hopefully have something, possibly this dsign... ready to rumble soon...

Mo changes....
oops....the last one wouldn't work when inverted.... plus as usual weight is VERY tight....dang I wish that one day, we could have a flippin robot that was well under weight.
Motors are RC style 550's, 2:1 ratio w/ inverted belts, 2" Colsons, top and bottom are Ti , knocker is S7, battery is a 3S Lipo, 1350ma
CG is dead on, but still have to position the control boards, LED's, etc.

First off what you need is a big drum. Second you need a paint job. We found purple works best. Third...I have to drive it.
no I believe your going to need a excessively heavy beater

So...abandon the project and build a 15 pound Plum bot?
Wouldn't that be like pushing the EASY button?

Please what?
So far everything is connected (except motors and LED's) and no smoke yet....the chip is programmed/flashed, but I need to run out to the 'Shack' for some resistors......I have a box full of them, but nothing close to what I need..accodring to 'Rich'

Well, I finally got the circuit wired up and.....
Tested with stuff sitting on the bench (bot is still vapor class)
NO smoke, no video...lol
Everything seems fine, except that the motor (only using 1 a the moment) only spins at 1 speed (probably needs to be calibrated and that means in a bot and spinning) land the system doesn't failsafe??
I need to get this stuff into a bot and spinning, in order to move forward...
Stay tuned.............

Dang friggin robot bs....I'm so close on weight, that I need to turn the Ti , wheels and anything possible into swiss cheese....
I hate having toi worry about things like ...can I pad something or even use a REAL on/off switch..
and I don't want to scale it down, cause I want lots of energy....(as much as is possible) and I really dislike foam wheels...hope I can get away without them....

im a big fan of colsons but id honestly go with lite flights
its not gonna be a pushy bot in anyway you dont want this one to bounce around at ALL because of translation the foam keep it on the floor better i think

I'm probably wrong, but I really wanted to try this out (initially) with some holy Colsons
Things just got worse...I was almost at weight (in SW) when I found out that I mis-weighed the 2 motors, so I just gained 100 grams.........more pockets and holes and now still 50 grams over....pos

Back down to under 3 lbs., still with Colsons, but they're only 1/2" wide at the moment...shouldn't be a problem.
I just hope that the motor brushes can handle EXTREME G forces...not to mention the battery pack, which is way out there in left field
