A bit disappointing in that we had trouble with most of the bots..
In any case
Sting'Em took 2nd (with no running drum) Rattler 1 took 4th Sting'Em won best engineered Rattler 1 won best documentation StingWMD won the rumble...cracked old Fluffy's drum in half and bent Animosity's blade (I am told)
Some bad luck with StingWMD
Rattler 2 (last years winner) never really got out of the starting gate TTATT had problems as well
On a bright note, the brushless drivetrains worked pretty well.

Sting Em (our girls team) fought both Fluffys back to back....
hat video was vs the NEW Fluffy (S7 drum and brushless drivetrain). This was a 2nd round match. Fluffy fought and won vs Senai's Thunderstruck Mini.
I think that Will was totally into his 120 Fluffy and probably not caring too much about the 15 ???
In the Fluffy/StingEm video, it looked like neither team was that anxious to make contact.
I've never seen anything like it....both bots just creeping slowly towards each other?????

To be quite honest, I didn't want to hit Fluffy just because they weren't hitting us!

Not one of Fluffy's finer moments, that's for sure. I totally understand (and appreciate) the 'they weren't hitting me, so I just kinda cornered them' approach. With a BIG weapon, it's sometimes the way to go.
In a similar way, I'm wondering how the meltys are gonna change things at BOTSIQ--they don't move in for the kill very quickly, but you simply don't wanna touch them! I'm hoping our vac bots will do them in, and then our others can manage to contend against the mojito.
It should be a great event!

HELLO!!! haha ya.. to sum it all up, brushless drive. That was the only reason. That drum was a pain in the neck to get finished! But ya, brushless drive was super glitchy and couldn't get any real control from the motors. Note the unexplainable spinning around in circles and funny formations at the beginning of the video.
And we ya, we were too focused on the 120 to put enough time into figuring out the problems. We noticed them early on in the year, because we didn't actually make this one in the last 30 minutes before the competition, but could never figure out the problems despite rebuilding the gearboxes a billion times and reprogramming it in every possible modulation of settings in every available version of the firmware. Motors were just very jumpy, no low rpm control at all.
Now, I will recoil back into my cave... not speaking until I don't see my shadow.

Are u referring to the 120 brushless or 15 brushless drives?
MLEC has now converted all their 15's to brushless drives, from wha I saw a the only meeting that I've attended this year (last week).
Still using BB 16:1's (chinese) and neu motors on the whole fleet

Fighting that Fluffy definitely made me feel good about my little drum!
Well we don't exactly blame you. None of the other robots on our team want to go against a Melty either!
Also, we're scared the Melty will get baned from BotsIQ for inflicting too much damage on the cage. I guess we'll see what happens when we get there! The team is really excited to see what will happen too!

build a stronger cage or build smaller bots. banning designs is a sign of organizational weakness

Well the building of the BotsIQ cage is not up to us as it's not OUR property?
It's not a banned design. It's just that according to the calculations we've made so far, the robot exerts a lot of force and we're not sure if the cage will absorb the impact.
