No final results or video yet, but here is a small update
Fluffy 3.0 (15 ) beat Thunderstruck mini in its debut match., then lost to Sting"em in its second, when the cover and battery fell out of the bot. BTW: Will's latest small Fluffy is sporting a solid S7 drum of the typical Fluffy large diameter.
Alex Grant's Animosity is 1 and 1 so far
Big Fluffy (de large) is 1 and 0
Sting WMD is eliminated after losses to team mate Rattler 1 and a very close call loss to a a beater. More on that at another time.
U of M Cat 5 FBS 120 is 1 and 0 , but had a slight smokey meltdown...thankfully only a victor and some wiring totally melted.
Witch Doctor tapped out to an undercutter after suffering some wheel damage and its wedge removed.
MLEC stilll has 4 bots in the running, 3 undefeated after 22 rounds.
More possibly from others, or tomorrow

Old Fluffy is 2 and 0 ...1 forfeit and a tap out
Blender (120) fought U of M pandemonium and I am not sure who won.
From what I saw, Pandemonium (fbs) wasn't spinning at all, but seemd to get the beter of most hits. I tink that blender lost all or most of its teeth??????? Strange.
Ransom's other 120 (El Cholo) looked pretty impressive and is 1 and 0
I think that by the end of tomorrow, we should be very close to only having the finalists left...we'll see.

I just heard the little vac bot Ransom's got is the cause of the lipo fire - it destroyed a beater. It later lost and will be returning for the rumble.

Ransom's little Vac bot was a mixed bag ... It fought Alex Grant's Animosity and Animosity couldn't budge it AT ALL. On the other hand, the vac bot couldn't actually initiate any action, nor did it ever push animosity. So it lost, even tho every hit was initaiated by Alex and Animosity always just bounced away.
If Ransom can get it to do some actual driving and pushing, it should do well at future events.
I forgot to mention that Witch Doctor is 1 and 1 , with a first round win over an old Jim Smentowsky (Robot Marketplace) bot that was resurrected for this event.
If I 've got anything wrong so far, someone please correct me.....

2nd day of fun and games was a mixed bag for MLEC....
In the 15 pound division, there are only 2 undefeated bots and 4 in the losers bracket.
MLEC has 1 bot in the winners side and 1 in the losers side.
The very determined team from Puerto Rico also has 1 in the winners side and at least 1 in the losers as well.
RE's 2 120's are doing very well, I believe that both are still undefeated... (Fluffy De Large and El Cholo)
Not sure what else happened....I spent the day either on my feet, or in a HARD chair......or out in the smoking section trying to hide under a rock.... (i.e. very tired and kind of beat up... )
Last years champ (Rattler 2) suffered from OLD electronics gremlins....seems like motors, Wyachi...almost everything was causing problems....TTATT's wedge got hung up on the floor and it was also counted out.....disappointing showing for both bots.
So, Sting'Em and Rattler 1 are still in the chase........
Ends tomorrow and hopefully someone will put up some video....???

Fluffy DeLarge is this year's Champion in the 120 pound class!
EDIT: Apparently El Gran Rey Cholo, Ransom's other 120 has taken second, and Buddy Lee (a Carrolton 120) has taken third.

Fluffy DeLarge challenged Witch Doctor (this year's Pro Champion) to a grudge match. Witch Doctor was then beaten in an epic match that I totally want video of.

A big congrats to Green Mojito (I think) from Puerto Rico which won 1st place in the 15 pound division!!
They were undefeated, very excited, determined and focused. A very good win and a great bunch of people.
Blender took 1st in the college 120 class with Cat 5 from U of M taking second......not sure about the rest..sorry

I saw Sting 'em made it to 2nd in the Minis, so not a bad showing from you guys at Team Jag either.

Not making any excuses for Team Jag's showing. We had a lot of bad luck and some good luck as well.
Mechanically, we switched to a different material for the drum belts and in 2 of the 3 drumbots, the belts flew off of the pulleys either on startup or shortly after. This happened in quite a few matches.
Also, after winning so many times in prior events, our team as a whole was no where near as hungry for the win, especially when compared to the exctement that flowed from the Puerto Rico contingent.
I ues that one of the lessons learned is that while it is really tough to get a group of kids and robots to the top, it can also be very tough to keep them there.
Team Jag needs to regroup and get VERY motivated again.
Again, a big congratulations to Gregg and the team from Puerto Rico on a great first time out showing, the enormous energy that they brought and of course a great win.
Hopefully some video will emerge soon. Also hopefully some pics of the winning bots.

Nice to see that Blender can be beat....
Witch Doctor got spanked at least twice ..starting to look not all that impressive or maybe it wasn't running at 100% this year????

I never found to many 120s all that impressive, last year Witch Doctor started using brushless for weapon motors and I'm starting to be impressed. Now if only the guys in the RFL catch on to the larger brushless motors....

Wow, that looks like it was perfectly along the seam on Blender's shell.

Blender has had its shell cut open before by X back in 2005 I think. At that time Blender's shell was only tack welded at certain places around the shell. The Toolsteel blade of X was set at that exact height and sliced Blender right open.
It was like a stripper at a bachelor party... the shell skirt came flying off and the crowd went crazy!
That was one of my favorite 120 matches... Especially since Blender sliced through Chrome Dome in like 9 seconds the year earlier... lol. Good times!
How about some 15lbs robot matches hitting Youtube...

Witch Doctor was running alright. There are still some tweaks that need to be made as we continue to learn. The robot is far from perfect and can be beaten. It like all other bots has good matches and bad ones. Here's a good one.
