I also have to thank the ME dept. machinist Phil Irwin for helping me/showing me how to do alot of things and for putting up with me for the ridiculous amount of time that I spent in his shop
I think I have a couple new kids hooked on this and a few veterans back into it
I'm really looking forward to working the bugs out of this bot, I have a few things I plan to change as well and have already started working on another bot for next year now that I know of the ridiculous capabilities I basically have a Penn State

We really do. Everything was literally done at penn state, either in the learning factory or the ME dept. machine shop I had a few people ask if we actually built it and heard lots of whispers Reminde me of highschool except for the losing part haha

I wouldnt say its common haha I had never experienced anything like it before and it only seems to happen when we use our one battery pack. Ended up being fine with the other battery pack and even with the weapon.

Not much to watch after 30 seconds Our right wheel cracked and was spinning on the bushing so drive was bad from the start Now that I see the video I think we lost because of a bad wire off the switch not the scorpion The hit ripped out there weapon shaft, I wish I had taken a picture I think weapon throttle was at 55% here on 5s to pass inspection since our inspection was the first time spinning the weapon and we didnt have time to set the brake
A little bit better rumble video

Well not much progress at all this semester We decided to go to a 4cell instead of 5 and are giving the botbitz esc a shot A little bit of weight has been taken out of the old frame as well so hopefully we can put all the screws in lol
I honestly think I burned myself out bot wise last year in my efforts to get this one done so I really haven't put much time into the team this past semester and it took some time to get other people to do some work without me but a few people have stepped up, 2 members are redesigning the frame for this bot and some others are working on a design for a new bot that I gave them a basic idea and let them go from there. We'll be testing some new stuff for us with it
Hopefully I'll have the time next semester to get back into it and the enthusiasm to get poo done.
Motorama is a long shot but we'll definitly be in indianapolis

Cody,
Just letting you guys over at Penn State know that we are having our own event later this spring that is open to any school or college. We are currently building an octagon arena that is going to be bigger than the one at the last national event in Indy.
Mark the April 27th date on your calender and pass the information to anyone else that is looking for an event to participate at... This is going to be a good event that I'm hoping will take off in the coming years.
You can get a hold of me if there are any questions;

Hopefully we can make it!
This bot is back together and underweight but we're still fight electrical problems We have gone down to 4 cell A123 and botbitz esc Of course just after we ordered or esc they stopped making 25 amp esc
The boy drove great for about three minutes and left side drive cut out, the esc and battery werent even warm, no smoke or weird smells Now the receiver isn't getting power so I think the esc shorted and fried the receiver too

Thinking about it I'm going to blame the problem on the BEC till I get a new receiver and can do more testing
