| ??? Maybe 2 of each?
Have to wait till we weigh them and see where they are at and whether the kids want to do some work on them or just start the new bots.
I do want to get DoomsDay rebuild running right for once.
We never really got that thing running good with the newer design.
The first time we spun it up it was spinning that blade faster than we ever spun it then the kids tweaked this and that and screwed something up.
This was at the point that I let them figure out all problems so I never really looked into what the problem really was.
I am thinking dirty motor or bad magnet placement.
With 2 frames we might just bring them out and do some testing on our new disc design instead of the bar.
Just throw some UHMW across the T's and a top and bottom and it might look something like Scurrie as a 15lber.
Have to wait till next week to see what they want to do.
I know 3 of my elite's are in the band so it will probably be up to the Co Captains and a few other returners for the questioning.
I should know by next Friday..
Registration was open till first week of September Right?
I might get some DWG's of the new bots up here if they saved them right from the Spring!
Frisco out!

| The Early Fall is really a bad time for many High School Teams to compete. Here locally we really ramp up for Spring Competitions and the builds usually are geared towards that time of year.
A December event would really be good or maybe even early January.
Most Sports happen in the fall plus SAT and PSAT's; new kids for class plus the budgeting and approval process for those new kids.
It really is a shame that this happens this way but maybe with the first time for this happening for a high school to compete in the fall it might turn around for next year.
I think if i would have known in the Spring that Franklin was having a 15# HS Class I might have been able to get something scheduled and could have competed.
But then again, SAT's plus football and band on Friday nights takes half my team away from me.

| No question that the timing is bad for schools...unless some of your last year's bots are still up to snuff, etc.
We are having a event (15's and Vex) down here on the same day, but at the moment, no other schools have any 15's that run, so that part may be a no go....
Our robotics club met once a week through the summer, so the kids have never really put it totally on the back burner.

| December is ideal for a battle but there are none scheduled for that time of the year.
I know that the local schools are getting more involved but once again, many are new and many are suffering from budget cuts.
Fundraising usually takes a little while to get the kitty up and ready to buy parts and pay for competitions.
Usually by the end of October most schools know how much involvement they have from the kids and parents and have done 2-3 fundraising events so that is usually the time when most of them start looking at events to battle in.
I am kind of split between Motorama and Battlebots event this year.
Depending on the entrant numbers, I might look into begging Dan to take a road trip back home and enter into Battlebots.

| YA a bad turn out for all classes there this year.
I hope that Moto is a little different.
Our New builds are scheduled to be finished by the middle of January.
The 4 Old Bots will be refitted with new drive motors and a few parts for Moto as well.
Battle Bots is not looking like a Go for us at this point unless something happens between now and then.
