PostSubject: exhaust question   exhaust question I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 22, 2010 10:31 pm

Ive been looking around for a truck exhaust and a system has aluminized steel vs stainless.

I was wondering if any one new anything about it or would happen to know how it might hold up to road salt? Anyone know of what kind of steel they generally aluminze?

I know its a long shot but id figure id ask, maybe RJW would pull something out Very Happy

It's cheap chinese steel imported by fluffy....direct from jackie.... Laughing (who happens to be my cousin btw)

go with the stainless if you have the cash and can afford the weight...

send your old salt down here so we can neutralize some dead lipos....

What truck..let me guess...a Ford???? baaaaaww waaaaaaaaaaaah

the stainless version is about a 100 bucks more for 409 so its worth it

eh not yet. I have a couple buddies with tuners on theres and have nothing but problems. Both of them have problems with there clutches cause they cant handle the power.
Thats for the long run when i'm done with school and can afford $1000 plus for a south bend dual disc and stronger head bolts and all of that good stuff

I sold my Z06 to a guy that has a chevy deisel...hs claims massive torque from a chipo or whatever.

I sold my 2 vettes and finally the sc'd Miata....all my toys are gone.... Sad

I sold the z with a brand new blueprinted 383 (stroked)....2 weeks later I'm told that it took down an 800 rwhp all wheel drive porsche.....fell back off the line (of course) but them blew by it a bit later....also blew the driveshaft bearings out of the torque tube....lol

cheap vettes...can't even handle 1000 ft. lbs. of torque

bully dog had a crazy larry tune that put +230hp/+430lb-ft of torque to a 5.9 cummins engine. Dropped abunch of trannies so they stopped selling them.

1200lb-ft of torque is easy numbers in a diesel and you'll still have 13-14mpg
Diesels bad though.....
