| Should work just fine.... It is not really the clearance of the weapons but the clearance of any skirting and armor that you might use.

| The more noise it makes and the more it tears stuff apart..... Even the arena.... The more the crowd likes it...
I think Pete might be a little mad that we might go higher in attendance than the Hobby's this year...
Lets get some more signed up !!!!

| The floor is pretty crappy from the getgo, gets worse quickly, then they get lazy and decide not to even clean it up, even if its covered with bot parts, hardware, wood chips, etc.
No biggie, as long as you kno in advance and build accordingly.
imo, many bots that can do very well on a reasonably flat steel floor, may not do so well on the Moto wood floor

| Very True RJ there is a big difference in traction and hang ups but that just goes back to the initial design...
Another thing is you can pretty much clean the arena yourself if it is not up to par...
They will let you push a broom around at any time..

| We were total newbies in 2008, and all mlec's bots were built , based on a metal floor (ie low to the ground)...my own bots included. They have all proven to be be very competative, but perhaps not so much on a wooden floor. With no funding for NEW bots and no current plans to compete on a wooden floor, it not be cost effective to totally convert at this point. Designs were meant to compete in arenas like the BOTSIQ 10 x 10, the local alu 8 x 8 , possibly robogames, gcrs, etc....which all have metal floors Again, no biggie, in that we have no funding for travel anyhow. Looks like the 15 pound class at Moto is shaping up nicely tho.... | |

| Although the 15# class has been filled rather nicely...
The lack of teams is a little dissapointing, There are only 4 schools registered.
Im hoping there will be a few more teams from PA Like the Shock bots from Plum, Redemption, Alex and Cody's robots. BCA told me they were going to 2 15's but they still haven't registered.
Also on the MA front, how is it looking for Hanover Robotics going to this event?

| I just sent out a last email to all of the 44 teams involved in BOTS PA.
I figured that we might get 3 or 4 others to register but right now I am doubting my thoughts.
I figured that another competition within 3 hours drive would get a great response from the local teams but maybe they are just interested in IQ...
Since my first year of building these robots, I have been heading out to Motorama, whether it was to just go out and get ideas and make contacts and BS or register and battle.
We have built them at 12 # just to get another competition in and some experience..
And with what all goes on out there besides the Robot Battles, It is really a must go event...
I showed my first year students the website for Motorama and some pics from the past just yeaterday... they were overly excited about the event and are really geared up for getting the bots done and going..
It is like a real energy boost for them because it gives them reason other than just the robot to get in gear and spend the time and effort to get get things done..
I really hope people can see how this event helps rather than hamper.
With 4 weeks between Motorama and our local IQ Preliminary round, there is plenty of time to fix anything that might get broke.
Hopefully we can get a few more in there.

| It's still 18 bots, which is close to taking the lead for class with most registered bots, and is 2/3 of the way to matching the Battlebots comp in CA from a while back. | |
