Event at Belen Saturday October 23rd

next weekedn there will be a botsiq type event at Belen Jesuit school in Miami

It is mostly a vex qualifyer, with teams coming in from out of town but the 8 x 8 botsiq arena will b e setup , with maybe 8 or 10 15's attending.

Also, there will be a small insect arena to do demos to try and promote the building of small combat robots.

I will bring my meletys and STING if they run.

also, Iwill bring the 12 melty, if it runs in case any of the 15's wanna have a go...

should be fun....

anyone with a 1 or 3 pounder might wanna come down and demo their bot's prowess...

Rumor has it that the old fluffy (burning bunny) is making a comeback and will be at Belen!!!

Well it was a heck of a day at Belen....wow

I didn;t get to see a lot of what happened, but the MLEC team went at each other full force...Ti and sparks were flying, 2 mamba monster motors exploded, 1 with pieces of magnets flying everyhwhere. I heard some noises...sounded like sledge hammers htting as Rattler 1 and Sting Em (both S7 drumbots) beat each other to a pulp.

Sting Em ripped all the Ti off the front of Rattler 2 (girls can be mean) and bent the 1/4" Ti wedge!!!

I ran my 1 pound melty in a smaller arena, Sting as well, the 3 was tested and the 12 melty is now officially a 1 hit wonder, as the second accelerometer went south in losing to a 9" Colson.....

I can;t wait to see some of the video, in that I didn;t see much live action.....I did see Fluffy flying thru the air tho...not sure what Will was up to??

This was mostly a VEx qualifyer, with around 24 teams competing...not sure who won that either....

I'm not sure what amps they draw, but I'm certain MLEC uses LiPos and I don't think BBIQ has a limit on battery capacity. I think I heard PKynerd say they were running something crazy like 8s, but that just seems too much, so maybe I misremember.

drumbots were brushless on 5s...very small motors, very low amps

all the mlec bots could now run on A123 5 or 6 cell packs
