yeahhh... i mean, solidworks is pretty universal - we could exchange drawings and such, and distribute the work making parts, and assembling sub-assemblies... it would cost a fortune in shipping back and forth though lol

I told you it shouldn't hard to make a crusher. The trickiest bit is making sure it doesn't tear itself apart.

And making sure that the crushing part doesn't get too hot from the friction and all that jazz.

and making it tough enough and sharp enough to be able to tear through other robots armor

We just have to get the blades from that video Jeff had.

Well, Razer is just titanium and steel as far as I know. Nothing more exotic than what's used in spinning weapons really.

the self-righting feature is really well done though... but robot wars seems so fake. the slowness of the combat is really odd.

Eh. Remember, it was a long time ago, technologically speaking. Although I personally like the idea of house robots, just for the chaos & hilarity. Also the flame pit. Gotta have the flame pit. OH! AND THE WASHING MACHINE THEY CAN DROP ON ROBOTS FROM THE ROOF!

yea.. I liked it as a show, but some of the robots are just plain stupid. like the one that was covered in fur! it had no purpose, and yet some dumb british dude thought it was a GREAT idea! and they say we're stupid! lol

You clearly haven't been paying attention to the 15 lb competitions you've been attending all these years...

No, I've been paying attention, the problem is that the robots on robot wars, have been built by GROWN MEN. Whereas with Bots IQ, they've been made by high school students!

Eh. You've seen some of the college bots, and those are on occasion pretty depressing.

Crossbow/Bow Based Spring Weapons

The crossbow is a still-used and moderately powerful projectile weapon. In the middle ages, they were often used against mounted knights, due to their impressive ability to penetrate the armor of the period.

This concept involves making modified bow-style weapons instead of using typical springs for things such as a spike weapon or possibly a simple flipper. Very high torque motors could easily handle repeatedly arming a spring-steel bow which could then drive an armor piercing spike into an opponent's robot.

No further work has been done on this idea.
