| Thanks I'm going with the motors that you listed, I like that they are smaller and weigh less and the price is also good. Do you normally use 2 or 4 motors or 2 motors with front belt drive, is their enough room for a banebot hub and a pulley? Do you know if that seller combines shipping? | |

| I believe shipping is combined, but I'm not sure.
I used 4 on a Rammer/Wedge. Power and speed were good with 1 7/8 Banebots wheels, the the 4mm BaneBots hubs fit nicely on these shafts. If you plan to do alot of pushing i would reccomend 4 as I was about even when pushing other wedges, and dominant vs spinners.
Qualitatively I think they are about as powerful as the B-series motors, slightly bigger/heavier, but at 1/4 the cost.
Edit: missed the part about the pulley. The hub itself barely fits, so i don't believe it would work with a pulley.

| I asked the person on ebay with the slightly lager motors attached if they would put everything I order in a 4.95 small priority flat rate box and combine shipping and only charge me 4.95. So I might be able to mount a smaller powerful 25mm motor , maybe speed 280's or speed 300's. | |

| Idk about the numbers but I would assume the for the weight of shafts pulleys and belts it would be a better option to just run 4 motors and have the extra power | |

| That's what I'm planning on doing I'm just trying to find the right gearbox and motor to fit into my design. Here's the gear-motors that I think I am going to use but the motor is a little big long so I'm also trying to find a powerful smaller 25mm diameter motor to swap it out with. http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/DCM-300/12-VDC-IRON-CORE-MOTOR/1.html or maybe a speed 280 or 300. And I think I will use this 100 rpm gear-motor to power my lifter assembly. http://cgi.ebay.com/DC-12V-100RPM-Very-High-Torque-Gear-Motor-Hobby-New-/300450318465?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f43c0881 | |

| Well I ended up buying 4 of the heavier gear-motors from the united states for $10 each and a 100 rpm (for the lifter) , The day before yesterday. Then yesterday I found the smaller gear-motors from hong kong for $6 each with free shipping so I bought 8 of those to.
I have plenty of motors now.
Does Anyone know where I can watch the old Robot wars episodes or the old Battle bots episodes or something similar, I have Netflix but I didn't see them on there.

| Ok well I finally started building my robot, the design changed considerably it's now made out of aluminum that I used a bender to bend and rivet for the base. The top will be made from aluminum too, in the shape of a 4 sided wedge.(I might weld the top) I will cut 4 holes in the bottom and mount the motors inside the box (so their protected). (it looks thinner than it really is, And I will run it through tests before I take it to battle)
I will use 4 1000 rpm gearmotors Would the banebots 3-9 amp esc work best for this? Also I want to use a pistol grip remote instead of the dual stick so I will need a v tail mixer, could you recommend one? How many mah do you think I will need to run 5 min?

That seems way to thin to be a beetle agreed. not sure I understand how you plan on adding the wedge to it either

| Does anyone know the stall amperage of the 1000 rpm gear motor? Is their another esc that would work? | |

Is their another esc that would work? your just asking for too much from a single esc

| I might go with the sabertooth 12 (it might be able to pull enough amps) Would the rc edition be enough? Then I wouldn't need a v tail mixer because the sabertooth has the dip switch, so I could use a pistol grip remote right? | |

| What do you recommend then, their has to be some esc that I can use for my 1000 rpm gearmotors? | |

| I posted a few post's back that I wasn't using the 3-9. I am either going with the sabertooth 12 unless someone has a different solution. | |

| Alex basically restated what I said for a reason. 4 banebot 3-9 would be perfect for your application. I wouldnt recomend using any DE products for combat robots. There esc's just wont work with dsm technology and they arent built for the abuse. | |

Why are you going to use 4 BB 3-9's as they are the correct solution for this? Would I have to splice the jr servo leads together?

[emphasis mine] Could you please explain this? I have not had any real issues with the sabertooths that I haven't had with the 3-9s.
